Antelope Canyon is really two separate canyons - Upper and Lower Antelope.
Upper Canyon is also known as The Corkscrew. It is amazingly beautiful! Its sensuously sculpted walls twist, glowing in unbelievable shades of red, orange, and yellow as the sun passes overhead.
Spectacular flash floods during the occasional powerful summer storms, the force of the floodwaters combined with eons of time carves the canyon's sandstone walls into exquisite shapes.
The canyon walls combine with sunlight beams that penetrate the canyon to create scenes of unbelievable and surreal natural beauty, as the day goes on, changing light angles create a kaleidoscope of patterns and colors.
